Meet Paige: Still Finding Her Way

Every story starts with someone worth following, and mine begins with Paige. I’ll admit it: Paige has a lot of me in her. Introverted, subtly funny (at least we think so), nostalgic, kind, too independent sometimes, harder on herself than she should be. Writing her was a way of putting all those pieces on paper and seeing what she’d do with them.

Paige is capable, dependable, and used to handling things on her own. She’ll tell you she doesn’t need anyone, but if you watch closely, you’ll see she’s exactly the kind of person you want to show up for anyway.

She’s a nurse, the person who stays calm when everyone else panics. When her life back in Portland started to come apart, she did what she does best: she kept moving. She took a traveling nurse job, packed up, and landed in Digby. Just a temporary town on a temporary detour.

She has a teenage son back home who she misses more than she lets on, a soft spot for most humans (though she pretends not to), and a knack for showing up in the wrong place at exactly the right time.

If you’re trying to picture her, imagine someone with long, wavy brown hair, a quiet kind of grit, and a softness she keeps tucked just out of reach.

Paige isn’t perfect, but she’s real. She smiles through the storm, only to quietly unravel when no one’s watching. And I’m hoping she’s someone you can’t help but root for.

If it were a movie and I got to pick the cast…I’d probably choose Jennifer Garner to play Paige!

This is just one of the people you’ll meet in my upcoming novel, a story about found family and second chances. Come back next week to meet someone new!

I’m still editing and shaping this story, working to bring it into the world. But if you’d like updates, sneak peeks, and behind-the-scenes notes along the way, join my newsletter!

She stood in the storm, and when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails.
